Service-learning workshops to assist with tools for managing

October 22, 2012

Improved tools for conducting service learning will be the topics of two brown bag workshops Oct. 29 and 31 from the Center for Instructional Excellence.

Both events in the fall Service Learning Brown Bag Series will run from noon to 1 p.m. in the Krannert Building, Room 202 (Hollister Room). The workshops are:

* "Incorporating Service Learning through Blackboard" -- Oct. 29. This workshop will provide technological tools on how to add the element of reflection through online journaling, discussion boards and final group projects.

* "Scales and Assessments for International Service Learning Research" -- Oct. 31. International service learning (ISL) is becoming increasingly popular among students who are interested in expanding their global awareness, diversity skills and international experience. This workshop will discuss different scales and assessments for measuring international service learning outcomes for scholarly work and publication.

Interested persons are asked to RSVP to sassm@purdue.edu as a help to preparation. CIE invites participants to "bring your lunch and munch."
