A section of the Purdue Solar Decathlon home is lifted by crane on Wednesday (Oct. 12) to its permanent foundation. The home's solar capabilities are expected to greatly lower the monthly costs for the family that will eventually live there, and the house will serve as a solar energy laboratory for Purdue students for the next five years.
