WorkLife Programs to offer first webinar

October 13, 2011

To meet the needs of staff in remote locations and those unable to leave their desks to attend a presentation, WorkLife Programs is beginning to offer webinars, the first of which will take place next week.

"True or False: Weight Loss Myths Exposed" will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 21. Registered dietitian Karen Hosterman-Sabel will host the webinar.

"Carrots are high in sugar and should be avoided when dieting." "Never eat after 7 p.m." "Dieting means you have to be hungry all the time." "Everyone should eat six small meals a day." What's true and what isn't? Webinar participants will be better able to separate fact from fiction and get answers to some of the commonly asked questions about weight loss.

This session's "true or false" format will provide practical answers, andweight loss questions will be invited. Participants will learn not only what hasn't changed in the battle of the bulge, but what has brought new insight into the weight loss arena.

To register for the webinar or other offerings, go to www.purdue.edu/worklife and log in with your career account and password, or call WorkLife Programs at 49-45461. Once a participant has registered for the webinar, the URL for the meeting will be available under "my enrollment."

For those unable to attend at the scheduled time, the webinar will be recorded and made available within a few days at www.purdue.edu/worklife.
