13 Purdue researchers win NSF early-career awards

Thirteen Purdue faculty members have won the National Science Foundation's most prestigious honor for outstanding young researchers in 2009.

The Faculty Early Career Development awards range from $300,000 to $525,000 in research funding over four or five years. About 400 researchers win the awards annually.

Purdue's recipients this year are Yong Chen, Demetra Evangelou, Kevin Gurney, Matthew Jones, Krista Nichols, Dev Niyogi, Zheng Ouyang, Jeffrey Rhoads, Ann E. Rundell, Chih-Chun Wang, Chen Yang, Dabao Zhang and Xiangyu Zhang. More

Session set to assist new hires in obtaining Social Security card

Social Security Administration (SSA) representatives will be on the West Lafayette campus to take applications from new employees who need Social Security numbers. They will be available 9-11:30 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 13) in Room 136, Schleman Hall. The representatives will stay as long as required to meet with everyone who needs assistance. Wisdom-Hylton to return to Purdue

Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton is returning to Purdue, women's basketball head coach Sharon Versyp announced Thursday. Wisdom-Hylton is joining the Boilermaker coaching staff on a temporary basis. She is filling in for an undetermined period of time while assistant coach Martin Clapp is taking a medical leave of absence. More
