January 8, 2010 Theater professor to open global webinar seriesTheater professor Richard Thomas on Jan. 15 will give the first lecture in a new series organized by an international professional society, and all are welcome to attend in person or through its worldwide webinar presentation. Thomas was asked to open the series by the International Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians. The webinar is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. from Room B185, Pao Hall, which is the sound studio. Thomas will speak on "Music as a Foundation of Theatre Origins." "It is quite a privilege to be able to do this," says Thomas, who is officially professor of visual and performing arts. "I will be presenting lecture material from my upcoming book, which I have developed over my sabbatical." The event is free and open to the public, both in person and via webinar.
