Deborah Butterfield bronze horse sculpture installed at Purdue

Deborah Butterfield sculpture

Riggers from Methods & Materials Inc. check anchor points for the Deborah Butterfield sculpture on Monday as Michal Hathaway, assistant director of Purdue University Galleries, and Alexa Unser, graduate student in fine arts, observe the installation.

The life-size bronze horse sculpture is a new addition to the South Campus Plaza landscape in front of Yue-Kong Pao Hall. The 1,700-pound sculpture was commissioned specifically for Purdue and funded by the Florence H. Lonsford Endowment, which is restricted to purchasing artwork.
