Residence life manager enjoys variety, excitement of role

Kelley Wood

There's no such thing as a typical day in the life of a residence life manager at Purdue's residence halls, and that's exactly why Kelley Wood loves her job.

"You never know what's going to happen or who's going to walk in the door," says Wood, who worked as an RLM at Shreve Hall last year. "A student may come to you with a problem they need help with or to share something good that's happened to them, or there may be some type of crisis or emergency. That's what makes it exciting. This job is never, ever boring." More

Flu shot coupons ending

Flu shot coupons are coming to an end sooner than expected. Maxim Health Systems, the vendor partnering with WorkLife Programs, is working with retail locations (CVS, Marsh, Target) to provide seasonal flu shots in the community. Due to unexpected challenges in the production and distribution of seasonal flu vaccine, Maxim's retail programs will be ending by Oct. 22. More

ITaP soliciting collaborative and cross-disciplinary technology projects from faculty

ITaP is offering a competitive grants program to fund innovative technology projects that aim to improve instructional quality and effectiveness. ITaP will fund up to $120,000 on projects using social media, collaboration, simulation, gaming, mobility, user-generated content, and more. More

The power of WBAA public radio's pledge drive-opening Power Hour has doubled. All pledges made during the Power Hour, which is 7-8 a.m. Friday, will be matched dollar for dollar thanks to member listeners who have pledged matching funds. More

Deborah Butterfield bronze horse sculpture to be installed

Deborah Butterfield sculpture
A life-size bronze horse sculpture will be a new addition to the South Campus Plaza landscape in front of Yue-Kong Pao Hall.

The Deborah Butterfield sculpture, which will not be named until it is installed, will be located at the intersection of Sheetz and Wood streets. The installation is expected to begin around 10 a.m. Monday (Oct. 19). More

Men's basketball schedule finalized

The Purdue men's basketball team finalized its 2009-10 slate on Wednesday with the announcement that it will face Ball State in the John R. Wooden Tradition on Dec. 19, and welcome Buffalo to Mackey Arena on Dec. 5 in BSU's original slot on the schedule. More
