Award-winning program is catalyst for clarifying diversity of perspectives

Two people can look at an issue between two nations, or talk with a sales clerk in a busy store, or overhear a passel of teens at a public event, and experience two different things. Perspective can range widely, and thus it is an element of diversity just as much as race, gender or age. That idea is the basis for "Ten Lenses: Decoding Cultural Beliefs," the award-winning current program of the Housing and Food Services Cultural Programs Office. More

Cancer Center changes name

The Purdue Cancer Center has changed its name and is now called the Purdue University Center for Cancer Research. The name change more accurately reflects the function of the center, says Timothy Ratliff, the Robert Wallace Miller Director of the center. More

Alumnus Scott Tingle chosen for astronaut training

Tingle
A Purdue alumnus is one of nine astronaut candidates selected by NASA this year out of more than 3,500 applicants, the space agency announced.

Scott D. Tingle, 43, of Hollywood, Md., will begin training in August at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. The training takes about two years to complete, said NASA spokesperson Nicole Cloutier-Lemasters. More

Purdue Athletics releases first part of video mini-series

Purdue Athletics has released the first of its three-part video mini-series, which provides an inside look at the Boilermaker football program under the direction of first year football head coach Danny Hope. The first video is "ONE TRADITION" and features a variety of football alumni, Director of Athletics Morgan Burke and Coach Hope. More
