'Spear Phishing' attacks increase in Purdue e-mail

Recently, people at Purdue have been receiving an increased number of a particular type of phishing e-mail which appears to be sent from Purdue University departments.  These e-mails are a specific type of targeted online fraud known as "spear phishing." Campus IT security experts warn that users should never provide any personal information in response to an unsolicited request.  More

Monthly standard reports soon available in MS Excel

Purdue faculty with one or more sponsored research projects and other funding sources can look forward to greater flexibility in how they organize their monthly transaction reports. In early September, faculty who currently receive transaction reports will find their August data in both an Adobe Acrobat PDF and as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. More

Site changed for presentation about Internet-based support system for volunteers

A Purdue visiting professor will give a presentation today (Sept. 8) about her project to develop an Internet-based support system for volunteers in developing countries.

Lori Foster Thompson, a visiting professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership and Supervision, will give a presentation 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Young Hall, Room 447, on the project titled SmartAid: Consultants Without Costs. There will be a one-hour reception after the presentation. The talk is free and open to the public.
