Invited Talk: Dr. Sacoby Wilson - "Environmental Justice in a Changing Climate: Issues, Challenges, and Solutions"

Description

Dr. Wilson leads the Community Engagement, Environmental Justice and Health (CEEJH) Initiative at the University of Maryland. Dedicated to addressing environmental injustices and health disparities nationwide while also providing support within the District of Columba, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) region, CEEJH provides technical support to communities combating environmental challenges and related health issues. Challenges specific to the region include pollution in the Anacostia River and Chesapeake Bay stormwater management as well as air quality issues such as those related to chicken farming. Additionally, Dr. Wilson fosters STEM+H pipeline development in regional schools, emphasizing Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Health disciplines. Time of event is still to be determined, details to follow.
