Institute for a Sustainable Future
August 1, 2019
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Beck Agricultural Center, 4550 US-52 West, West Lafayette, IN

Description

Purdue University graduate students are proud to host the fourth Graduate Student Plant Science Symposium, part of the Plant Science Symposia Series sponsored by Corteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont. This year the theme is Emerging Technology in Agriculture.

Feeding the world for a growing population raises many questions. The need to double the amount of food produced by 2050 has pushed the boundaries of traditional research methods and materials. Plant scientists and collaborators from other fields have been addressing this issue by developing and applying cutting-edge devices, sensors, techniques and processes, among others. The broad nature of technology used in plant sciences leaves open the opportunity for discussion and collaboration, and to reach its full potential, multiple disciplines must contribute. The symposium will feature the diverse areas that showcase the research and strategy of implementing emerging technology to feed the future.

The symposium’s goal is to highlight research associated with technology and innovation that spans multiple disciplines in agriculture. The symposium will also be available via webinar.
