Intelligent Connected World

Bio: Dr. Mohammad (Mo) Shakouri is a Silicon Valley investor and entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in communications and electronics industry. He is director of the Community Broadband Initiative at Joint Venture Silicon Valley. He also serves as Chairman of the WiMAX Forum and is founder and CEO of Microsanj. Dr. Shakouri earned his BSEE from San Jose State University and his Ph.D. in electrical engineering and applied physics from Stanford University.

Abstract: The intelligent connected world of the future will be boundary-less. This presentation will look into trends in technologies and use cases such as 5G, Open Source, sharing economies, new Spectrum and how the future of cities, communities and industries will be affected. It will review Facebook Open Networking, Linux foundation Open platforms and NIST’s  Global Cities Team Challenge (GCTC)  and Joint Venture Silicon Valley Initiatives. Smart Internet of Things (IoT) involves connecting smart devices and systems—in diverse sectors such as transportation, energy, manufacturing, and healthcare—in fundamentally new ways. These technologies will enable industries, cities and communities to improve services, promote economic growth, and enhance the quality of life.
