ECE 646 - Signal Theory

Effectivity: 05/19/2003 - Fall 2007 *** @ Purdue West Lafayette Traditional
Credits: 3
Instructional Types: Lec
Usually Offered: fal spr
Short Title: Signal Theory
Description: The concept of a general signal space based on multidimensional linear spaces is developed and applied to the representation of discrete and continuous signals and to linear transformations. Fourier, Hilbert and other integral transforms are considered and methods are developed for characterizing signals by such properties as energy, power, instantaneous frequency, signal dimensionality, and time-band-width product. The applicability of general signal analysis techniques to practical problems is stressed as is the relationship of these general methods to more familiar approaches to signal analysis and representation. Offered every third semester. Prerequisite: ECE 60000, MA 51100.
