Short Title: Softwr Redesign Cobol
Description: An introduction to COBOL programming with an emphasis on redesign legacy COBOL applications to extend their useful lifetime in contemporary organizations. Topics include Year 2000 problem solving, Euro currency compliance, user interface redesign, structured design, object-oriented programming, and transition from conventional files to databases. Students learn to analyze existing programs to isolate legacy code problems, design solutions to those problems, develop and test solutions, and integrate solutions into software libraries.
