Description: Survey of major current developments in the application of computational methods and computing technology to the design, synthesis, and analysis of chemical processes. Topics covered include process flowsheeting systems and computational architectures, solution of large linear/nonlinear equation sets, optimization of flowsheeting models, dynamic process simulation systems, simulation and design of batch/semicontinuous processes; process synthesis methodology. The use of existing computer implementations is included. Prerequisite: CHE 45000.
