Description: Statistical mechanics of macromolecules, thermodynamics of polymer solutions, scaling concepts in polymer physics, dilute, semi-dilute and concentrated solutions and gels, reptation theory (deGennes, Doi, Edwards), molecular analysis of surface properties of polymers, diffusion theory of polymers (Fickian, anomalous, macromolecular relaxations), neutron and laser scattering, Brillouin, SAXS scattering, SIMS and XPS spectroscopy, electrical and optical properties, advanced mechanical analysis, and relaxational behavior. Prerequisite: Master's student standing of higher.
