Description: This course introduces the knowledge base on which digital animation and spatial graphics are founded and developed. Emphasis will be placed on developing a working knowledge of the underlying process of 3D animation including mechanics of 3D geometric formats; spline, polygon mesh, and NURBS modeling; procedural mapping of raster images; simplified modeling, rendering methods; hierarchical linking; keyframe animation; thumbnail storyboarding and scripting fundamentals.
