Description: Advanced study of the reciprocal effects of families and their social environments. Theory and research are reviewed and critically analyzed. Readings consider the mutual effects of families and their diverse contexts. Links between families and other social institutions are explored. Particular attention is given on how social contexts shape micro-level family interaction and organization. Prerequisite: CDFS 60200.
