Description: Covers basic aspects of the structure and function of the nervous system with a strong cellular and molecular emphasis. Broad areas of consideration will include the cellular and molecular biology of neurons, glia, and muscle, electrical and chemical signaling in the nervous system, neuronal development, and the complex interactions between neurons and the processing and integration of neural activity. A strong background knowledge in cell biology and/or physiology.
