Description: The course will introduce students to an understanding of the impact of the scientific revolution on world politics. Such topics as state capabilities, diplomacy and negotiation, coalitions and alliances, the organization of scientific and technical affairs internationally, the role of the scientist as diplomat, and international science policy are examined. One or two selected areas, such as military technology, ocean, environment, and outer space, are discussed.
