Description: The course deals with current knowledge of the geophysical structure of the earth's crust and the interpretation of the geophysical measurements in terms of petrology. Topics covered include reflection and refraction crustal structure, crustal and upper-mantle seismic anisotropy, petrology of oceanic dredge rocks, ophiolites, fault zone reflectivity, exposed continental crustal cross sections, crustal xenoliths, and evaluation of the crust.
