Description: Intelligent industrial systems. Expert-system and knowledge-based decision and control examples. Propositional logic, resolution principle for deduction, Horn-clause systems of logic, Dempster-Shafer uncertainty measures. Introduction to LISP and/or PROLOG. Knowledge representation schema, frames, objects and inheritance, semantic networks, rule-based representations, interface with corporate databases. Search in symbolic spaces, AND-OR trees, A-star search. Knowledge acquisition, learning by example, Kelly construct approach, neural networks. Examples of application to industrial engineering, such as manufacturing, production, etc.
