Short Title: Molec Biol Of The Cell
Description: A lecture course that introduces the cell, with emphasis on molecular mechanisms and the relationship between structure and function. Topics include: the properties and interactions of the macromolecules that comprise the cell; DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis and processing, regulation of transcription and translation; protein sorting and organelle traffic; cell motility; signal transduction; and the cell cycle. Designed to develop proficiency for Competency III "Using Science to Guide Diagnosis, Management, Therapeutics, and Prevention", and Competency IV "Lifelong Learning", Level 1.
