Description: Current theories that view families as a unit of care are used to assess strengths, deficits and coping strategies across the life cycle. Appropriate interventions and referrals are planned based on assessment of social and based on assessment of social and environmental factors that affect families. Increased competency in family interviewing skills enable students to apply appropriate health promotion and illness prevention strategies.
