C E 495 - Mathematical Modeling Of Civil Engineering Systems

Effectivity: 08/20/2001 - 12/15/2007 @ Purdue West Lafayette Traditional
Credits: 3
Instructional Types: Lec
Usually Offered: spr
Short Title: Math Models-Ce Systems
Description: The goals of this course are (1) to present a wide variety of applications of mathematical modeling in civil engineering and (2) to help the student acquire the ability to design mathematical models to facilitate the solving of complex civil engineering problems. The use of mathematical modeling to find optimal or good solutions to civil engineering problems is widespread. A variety of practical engineering planning, management, and design problems are presented; the resolution of these problems by mathematical programming is discussed.
