Fundamental concepts of feedback, basic mathematical background, basic control actions and industrial automatic controls, transient response analysis, error analysis, root-locus method, and design and compensation techniques. Frequency response analysis using Bode and polar plots. Nyquist criterion and Nichols chart. Controller design using Bode plots. State-space description. Design of state-feedback controllers and observers.
