Short Title: Clinical Biochemistry
Description: This course is designed to provide principles of biochemistry for clinical application for medical technologists. The course encompasses an introduction to carbohydrate, amino acid, and lipid metabolism. Also included are lectures on basic endocrinology, enzymes, and biosynthesis of steroid hormones. Physiological principles are stressed with respect to liver, lung, and kidney function. Special emphasis is placed on correlation of the theoretical and clinical areas.
