Description: An overview of the major forces and events that have shaped the lives of black Americans, closely integrated with a detailed analysis of important teaching methods, approaches, and audio-visual aids, this course is aimed at teachers and prospective teachers. Its goals are two: to re-educate the teacher of American history toward a more balanced outlook and to acquaint teachers of black history with pivotal facts and interpretations of the American black experience.
