Description: | Contemporary issues in international reporting. The first eight weeks are devoted to GAAP requirements for foreign currency translation of financial statements and transactions. Reporting of derivatives and risk exposure are integrated into this module. In the second eight weeks, the course compares the U.S.A. and foreign view of international activities and accounting. MGMT 509 aims to provide "hands-on" computer competence in the module on foreign currency translation, for which spreadsheets are ideal for modeling and making "what if" variations. The Internet and PowerPoint are also employed. The course prepares students for credentialing exams such as the CPA, CFA, or CMA, and their counterparts abroad. |
