Description: Analyses and syntheses of relation of the history of mathematics to its learning and teaching, analogies between mathematics history and mathematics epistemology, and the relation of cultural aspects of mathematics to didactical theories. Prerequisite: 6 credit hours at the dual-level graduate level in Mathematics Teacher Education and 6 credit hours at the dual-level graduate level in Mathematics. Required for PhD students in Mathematics Education.
