Description: Fundamental concepts of biochemical kinetics and reactor engineering are applied to the development of mathematical models for biochemical operations used in water pollution control. The models are used to evaluate the performance of and to establish the design criteria for aerated lagoons, activated sludge, aerobic digestion, trickling filters, rotating biological contactors, nitrification, anaerobic digestion, and denitrification.
