Description: An applications-oriented course in industrial problem solving using the experimental design concepts of Genichi Taguchi. The loss function is emphasized along with the differentiation among system design, parameter design, and tolerance design. Actual case histories are used to explain and promote comprehension of orthogonal arrays, linear graphs, classification of characteristics, and signal-to-noise ratio.
