Description: | Students will observe the great species diversity of wild, native, domesticated, and weedy vascular plants. Basic techniques and tools needed for species identification will be introduced. Plants in flower and fruit in late summer and fall will be emphasized. Student plant collections from nearby varied ecological areas will be used to learn the techniques for identification. Course meets during weeks 1-8. Requires class trips. Students will pay individual lodging or meal expenses when necessary. |
