Short Title: Adv Insect Behavior
Description: The first half of the course examines the design and implementation of behavioral experiments, including subject selection, types of questions that can be tested, observation techniques, data collection, equipment used to conduct behavioral experiments, ethogram construction, and data analysis. The second half of the course examines specifics of reproductive, migratory, defense, communication, and feeding behaviors. Class time is a mixture of traditional lecture, class discussion of published literature, and observational periods of demonstrating research techniques.
