Short Title: | Microsc/Cell Biol Lab |
Description: | In this five-week module, students will learn how to prepare specimens for viewing by fluorescence microscopy. Specimens mainly include mammalian tissue culture cells and zebrafish embryos. The emphasis will be on the staining of elements of the cytoskeleton in these preparations, utilizing antibodies and chemical stains. The specimens will be viewed by conventional and confocal laser scanning epiillumination fluorescence microscopy. Images will be acquired, digitized, and analyzed by modern computational methods.
