Description: Focuses on molecular mechanisms related to the pathogenesis of animal diseases and the use of molecular techniques in their diagnosis and treatment. Emphasizes the molecular mechanisms of parasitological, virological, bacteriological, and immunological diseases. Analytic techniques covered include gene cloning and expression, protein identification and purification, nucleic acid manipulation, Western and Southern blots, in situ hybridization, PCR, SDS PAGE, and immunofluorescence.
