Description: For students in the management graduate program or by consent of school. An in-depth examination of human resource management in the context of union-management relations. The following subject matter is examined: history of unions, labor law and its application, worker incentives to unionize, organizing campaigns and election outcomes, structure of collective bargaining, contract negotiations, contract content, grievance procedures and arbitration, mediation, union-management cooperation, and the impact of unions cooperation, and the impact of unions on wages, fringe benefits, turnover, absenteeism, etc.
