Short Title: Agro-Security Issues
Description: Contents are designed for individuals preparing for future management and loss control positions associated with agricultural production and agribusiness operations to be better equipped to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from both unintentional natural and human caused disasters, and intentional harmful acts. Strategies for minimizing loss of life, personal injuries, property loss, and environmental impact will be covered. Specific emergencies and disasters to be addressed include fires, explosions, tornadoes, floods, winter storms, vandalism, chemical releases, and bio-terrorism. Students will be required to participate in a community service learning activity designed to assist a farm or agribusiness manager in developing formal emergency preparedness plans.
