Description: This interdisciplinary course investigates art, architecture, literature, philosophy, and religion in the ancient world (to 1300 AD) from a multi-cultural perspective. The focus is on representative works; the course proceeds chronologically and each work is given an historical/cultural setting. The practicum develops critical appreciation through interpretive reading and observation.
