Short Title: Comp Arith & VLSI Comp
Description: A study of the design principles, algorithms, architectures and implementation issues involved in the development of digital computing and signal processing systems. Emphasis is on advanced concepts and high-performance systems. Key topics include machine arithmetic theories, efficient algorithms for integer and floating point-arithmetic operation, bit-level approaches to the computation of complex functions, algorithmically specialized concurrent VLSI architectures (systolic arrays, etc.), their design and applications. Offered in alternate years. Prerequisite: ECE 60800.
