Short Title: Theoretical Methods I
Description: Boundary-value problems in various fields of mathematical physics and engineering. Basic techniques of solving boundary-value problems of partial differential equations by employing the methods of Fourier series, orthogonal functions, operational calculus including Laplace transforms, other integral transforms, and Cauchy's residue calculus. Applications to heat transfer, fluid mechanics, elasticity, and mechanical and electrical vibration problems. Knowledge of ordinary differential equations is assumed. Prerequisite: MA 51000; Knowledge of ordinary differential equations is assumed.
