Description: Provides hands-on training in engineering and biological principles of biomaterials and biomechanics. Biomaterials topics include crystal structure, deformation of materials, and materials defects. Biomechanics topics include rigid body equilibrium, gait analysis, finite element analysis, and loading/modeling of hard and viscoelastic biomaterials. Physiological systems addressed include the musculosketal system, nerves, spinal cord, and vascular tissue.
