Short Title: | Algorithmic Robotics |
Description: | Algorithms in solid modeling and motion planning of relevance to robotics and computer-aided design and manufacture. Constructive solid geometry, boundary representations, boolean operations (union, intersection, difference), parameterization, implication, offsets, blending surfaces, tracing surface intersections, and robustness issues in modeling. Fine and gross motion planning algorithms, compliant motion and motion under uncertainty, motion coordination, dynamic simulation, automatic generation of differential equations governing motion and hinging constraints, generation of geometric data for collisions, and simple control problems. Offered in alternate years. |
