Description: This course is a comprehensive introduction to the aesthetic and history of movies. Students will learn how films are constructed, how they represent and challenge cultural and aesthetic values, and how they are produced and distributed. The primary focus of the course is on narrative movies made in the United States, though some narrative movies and foreign films are included.
