Description: The objectives of this course are: (1) To expose the fundamentals of structural design in earthquake regions, (2) To explain the functions of linear, nonlinear, and limit analyses with respect to design, (3) To describe the complex relationships between ground motion models and structural response models in the linear and nonlinear response ranges, and (4) To provide the students perspectives about the behavior of building structures in the earthquake environment.
