Description: This course presents the concepts of product development using virtual reality and Haptic devices in the development and manufacture of products. Students learn how this technology is currently being used in industry and anticipated technological advancements. Some of the major topic areas covered are: virtual reality technologies, product design and development processes, virtual environments and virtual prototyping, 3D modeling, design analysis and visualization, simulation visualization, multimodal user interface in virtual environments, and real-world applications of product development.
