Short Title: Drawing I
Description: Basic drawing course for all areas of studio art. The course deals with the perception of forms in space, the light source, and composition. In addition, the students are introduced to figure drawing and landscape. The intention of the course is to familiarize the student with the history of drawing ideas and how artists use drawing to aid in their work. Secondly, the history of techniques is stressed so that the student has a comprehension of the choice of material available to her or him. This course primarily meets in the drawing rooms with occasional field trips to draw on location.
