Description: This course is intended to introduce students to the materials of music - pitch, rhythm, melody, harmony, etc.; to the notational tools used by musicians to represent these materials; and to the processes and experiences of musical composition. By the end of the semester, each student will have used the tools and skills learned to compose several musical compositions in different musical styles.
