Description: In this writing workshop we will focus on two major aspects of the creative nonfiction genre--memoir and research narratives. We will be reading and discussing work by a range of writers, including Susan Orlean, Annie Dillard, Nick Flynn, Maxine Hong Kingston, and Tobias Wolff. We will also discuss core issues of creative nonfiction, including the role of the "I," observation and witness, research, and ideas on truth, memory, and subjectivity. Workshop.
