Description: Emphasis is on using soils information in the development of sustainable, agronomically effective and environmentally benign crop systems, especially as relates to plant nutrients. Topics discussed include soil properties affecting crop production and nutrient cycling; soil testing; making fertilizer recommendations; fertilizer application technology including variable rate technology; nutrient monitoring technologies; utilizing animal wastes and co-products; interactions of soil management and crop production practices with nutrient efficiency. Offered in odd-numbered years.
